I just landed in Vancouver for a speech on the Brand New World — for which, parenthetically, I am grossly under-prepared.

That's not the point. The point is this. We all hate to fly. Those of us who do it often try to whittle something positive off of the experience, whether its an upgrade or an on-time departure.

We whittle. And we withstand.

On this flight, on United First Class, I was presented with this card on my fourth screwdriver:

How cool is that?

Well, maybe all you cool cats out there still think that United is a piece of shit brand. Maybe.

But for me, Gina B. is freakin' awesome. And so is United.

  1. Interesting how we are humbled by random acts of kindness — and a simple hand-written message. Take that twitter, facebook, et.al. Yes, it is all about people doing something nice.
