This little brew-ha-ha of a story has surrepititiously uncovered the true power of consumer-generated media, in that a little bit of professionalism in an amateur arena will first be a springboard to relative success but then will quickly be discovered by enterprising consumers/viewers who mistrust the success it is receiving.

Bottom line: brands and companies posing as amateurs will not work in the age of the empowered consumer. You will be discovered and disparaged.
